"I recently saw Matt Poe and was able to hear him in Boston last year. Being on the front page of the NEW YORK TIMES was long overdue. I have never heard anyone lecture on the biomechanics behind speed development as Matt Poe presents this science. He is quite a student and a showman."....Darrick Sencinello, PHD Biomechanics.

WARNING: DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!!

"This was my last exercise on a 21 set deadlift day using free weights. I ended with lifting my trailer. My lower back was shot. Lifting a trailer off the ground is a good exercise for increasing the time it takes to go from hip extension to hip flexion. This hip speed through this range of motion is the key to a great start in sprinting and a powerful transition into your flight stage"...Coach Poe

"I do benchpress once a month, but my pushpress keeps my bench relatively high. I did 2 sets with 405 of 8 reps and dropped down and did 20 sets with 315 with 45 secs rest in between and did 4-6 reps"....Coach Poe

Hey Matt! My name is Chris Lairsey, I watched you demonstrate the push press at the Advanced Institute of Powerlifitng and Bodybuilding. I just want to say that I believe in what you do because I am an athlete ans some of the courses and workouts I have heard about are not as good as the one you have. I just wanted to say thanks, YOU HAVE REALLY INSPIRED ME to do what I love to do and to always believe in myself to achieve my goals in life.THANK YOU.

Coach Poe reps 320 pounds with Masters World Champion "Hoss Man" Joe Majors as his spotter.
Below are a few spectator responses that have been submitted to mattpoe.com
"Talk about POWER, Ed Coan, Matt Poe, and Wade Hooper looked unstopable. I would hate to have to compete against them. They are so focused, confident, and their techniques are perfect. I have never seen anyone press overhead as Matt Poe did.

Wade Hooper (167 pounds) reps 500 pounds RAW with Joe Majors as the head spotter.

He taught in one mood and then became a different person as he approached the bar. Then to top it off, Matt Poe lifted his knees up with the weight still in the air and marched with the (320 pounds) and was laughing and talking to the crowd as he did it...SCARY"--- Visitor of site ---Mark Senartio, Orlando, Florida.
"I could not believe I was in the same room with the strongest man to ever live and the greatest POWER LIFTER OF ALL TIMES----ED COAN. He was so nice, but you could tell he owned the weights, especially when he was toying around with the deadlift. He is a true champ..."----Visitor of site---Cynthia Shaw----Atlanta, GA.

"Being a lighter lifter myself, seeing Wade Hooper was incredible. His form was perfect and his demonstration of a 500 squat and a 400 bench was done with such ease that I now know I have a chance to follow in his footsteps weighing 167 pounds---Visitor of site---Carter Jenson---Ohio

"We met yesterday at the seminar in Atlanta.  I'm the guy that was wearing
the longsleeve gray shirt and asking too many questions.

I didn't say much during your pushpress demonstration, but just quietly
took some mental notes.

I tried out a few adjustments that you pointed out yesterday, especially
popping the hips forward as fast as possible.  I set a 30 lb PR in my
pushpress, and got more than my bodyweight overhead for the first time
ever.

I just wanted to drop you a note and say thanks."

CAOCH POE'S CAREER

"I started out in the trenches and continue to make advancements on the ground and advanced levels of design. A pretty building does not make an athlete or a coach. I am driven by heart"

Matt showed a lot of intensity and courage going into his first comp like this. He had great form on the overhead press and was a fast learner on everything else. He is a great credit to his profession."

---Ed Coan, Considered the best powerlifter ever.

Matt Poe, Ed Coan, and Josh Bryant.

Matt opens with a sybolic 500 pounds in honor of his late powerlifting coach Chuck "The Truck" Braxton at the New England Powerlifting Championships and the Atlantis Strongest Man in America Contest.
